In a Winchester Orphanage in the year 2000, children compete to become "L" the world's greatest detective. L is in his glory days; it is two years before the LA. BB Serial Killer Case and three years before Kira. Genius children from all over the world have been gathered to educated to the highest standard. However only one can become the next "L".
