/Combat Structure\
Bending: Yes, Firebender (Although it should be noted that he is unable to perform regular Firebending because of his lack of emotions. Therefore he can only perform Lightning techniques)
Weapons: Raijuu does not carry many weapons as he usually leaves the space for traveling items such as sleeping bags and food supplies. However, he does carry with him about 10 metal poles only the size of a knife or dagger with him. He uses these poles in his bending. Also a few smoke bombs as well.
Combat Style: Normally Raijuu prefers to avoid open combat as his job is mainly to deliver messages without being caught and as quickly as possible. When forced into confrontation he will try and stay far away from his opponents in order to use his bending. Also he will use smoke bombs to escape now and then. Finally, because of his lack of emotions he normally doesn’t take time to think about his moves and what the risks are with each, this allows him to move and react faster than his opponent(s).
/Biography\
Personality: Raijuu was originally born as a nice and gentle child with no care in the world, however, after his mother died in front of him he developed a rare mental illness similar to post-traumatic stress disorder. Due to this he is unable to feel or express emotions. He feels no attachment to anyone or anything, but will sometimes fake emotions like joy for other peoples sake. Getting to know people is one of Raijuu main habits, since he has a lack of personal emotion he wishes to know how others react in the situations they have on a regular basis, so that he can learn to at least act like he has emotions. Raijuu never uses sarcasm and hardly ever lies, he doesn't care what the situation will end up as and is willing to say anything to anyone.
History: Long ago, and even today, on the Western Air Islands there was a group of people that although they cannot Air bend, they still worship the sky and pay homage to it. There is usually always a head priestess at the Temple of the Sky at the base of the mountains, one in particular being Noami, the youngest there ever was. At the age of only Eighteen she was appointed to be the successor of the title of Head Priestess, but with this came the responsibility to serve the temple until the day she died, even if that meant standing up against the Fire Nation that was very disturbed by this group of wind worshipers.
When the Fire Nation had finally heard enough of their talk of peace and unity of all races under the sky, they sent one of their warriors: Commander Zeto to quell the people under the mountains. Upon arrival with his fleet, Zeto immediately took control of the entire town and most of its inhabitants. Those who were able to leave ahead of time made their way to the Sky Temple and asked Noami to send the Fire Nations soldiers away with her wisdom and grace.
After hearing the people’s request, she hurried down to the village where she sought a private meeting with Commander Zeto, after he agreed and she was sent to meet him, she bravely stood before him and demanded that he and his soldiers leave the village and the temple of the sky and to not return. Impressed by her bravery and beauty, Zeto ignored what she had desired of him and instead told her that whatever she wanted would be granted to her if she would spend one night with him.
Embarrassed, but still in need of helping her people, she agreed to his terms and spent the night with Zeto in his tent and in his bed. The next morning Zeto was surprised to find that Noami had not fallen for him no matter how much he courted her during the night they had spent together, she then asked that he hold his end of the agreement and leave the village of the sky and to not return again. Zeto was dumbstruck as he had forgotten that he promised that in return.
Finally leaving, the people of the village could freely return to their homes and praised Noami for her defeat over the heart of Zeto. Everyone in the village had been given what they asked for, but Noami’s happiness was short lived as she soon found that she was bearing a child and that the father was obviously Zeto. Months went by until she finally gave birth to a boy, she named her son “Raijuu”.
The Fire Nation had really lost interest in the Village of the Sky for a long time, since they had made the Earth Kingdom their top priority. However, finally as the Fire Nation was busy exterminating their lesser enemies, the village of the sky once again caught their eyes. They sent a different commander this time, seeing as Zeto failed to quell the town the first time, this time they sent the ruthless Commander Jeng. Once again the people of the village sought for Noami to stop the Fire Nation from destroying their village.
Noami at first didn’t want to risk another encounter with the Fire Nation’s commanders since her Six year old son would be left alone if she died, but eventually the villagers convinced her to go and see Jeng. The Commander was different from Zeto, he was not interested in Noami’s beauty or her bravery as he had already been married three times before and he disliked brave women. Her words cut deep into his pride, he told her that he would leave with his troops and that they would be gone by morning.
Noami returned home to her son thinking that the problem had once again been solved, but as she slept that night with her son in the bed right next to her, the Fire Nation soldiers stormed the temple and slaughtered the villagers that were inside. Commander Jeng himself came into Noami’s room and after the soldiers had restrained her, he cut her down with his katana. Little Raijuu could only watch as his mother bled to death on the floor, her screams filled him with fear.
Upon discovery of the little child that was sleeping next to her, Jeng ordered that Raijuu be taken with the other prisoners into the dungeons for later execution. While being held captive, the people of the village mourned over making their beloved Priestess challenge Commander Jeng and marking her self for death, especially since she had a son. Feeling horrible about themselves, the people of the village made one final revolt in order to allow Raijuu to escape on a boat and head for the Earth Kingdom. They broke from their cages and stormed the Fire Nation’s camps banging and hollering, swinging pitchforks and other utensils they could find, wildly and without care.
The Fire Nation soldiers broke this riot like it was nothing, killing all of the townspeople. However, they were so busy killing the adults that they didn’t notice a boat full of children sailing off to the Earth Kingdom. When the boat finally landed on shore the kids went in a group to the nearest village to find a way to survive, Raijuu, who had developed a rare mental illness similar to post-traumatic stress disorder after seeing his mothers death, stayed away from the rest and went on his own path.
He continued to walk the path until he finally reached a Fire Nation controlled village where he was taken in by one of the Fire Nation soldiers named Commander Poe. Poe let Raijuu live with him even though he learned, from Raijuu, that his mother and his village were traitors of the Fire Nation. He thought that if Raijuu’s father was a fire bender then he too should be able to Fire bend, and therefore be a true member of the Fire Nation.
Thus started Raijuu’s long and rigorous training to become a fire bender, unfortunately he lacked the emotions that were required for someone to properly fire bend, all he could think about was the bloody, screaming corpse of the only person he ever loved in this world. Eventually, Poe got results from Raijuu, but they were far greater then he expected.
When he was trying to get Raijuu to do a simple fire bending move that requires one to rotate the arm, Raijuu accidentally shot a single bolt of lightning from his hand and exploded a nearby rock into dust. Incredible, thought Poe. He continued to train Raijuu, not in normal fire bending, but by teaching Raijuu to try cast his lightning as fast as Poe could cast his fire. Of course since Poe didn’t know how to lightning bend and since Lightning takes longer to cast then fire, the training was not very successful.
More importantly enough, Raijuu couldn't duplicate the same effect that he had already done. In order to find the cause of all this, Poe went to the archives that he and his men had brought with them once they took the town. In them was a scroll that explained the nature of lightning and how one could bend it. It told them that in order to cast it, Raijuu needed to divide the natures of yin and yang. It also said that he needed to know the interpretation of positive and negative charges, and so started their attempt to get Raijuu to perform the lightning manipulation again.
It seemed as if the whole village, soldiers and townspeople alike, came to see if today was the day that Raijuu could perform the lightning again. Days turned to weeks and weeks to months, until finally he spun his arms again and shot another bolt of lightning into the air. It was simple, the support from Poe and the villagers had given him something that he had lost the night his mother died, it gave him peace. His training continued until the Fire Nation had been given orders to return from the Earth Kingdom as the Fire Lord has been replaced by his son.
After a few years of being together with Poe and the villagers Raijuu finally felt that he could live on his own. And this he did, he simply went to sleep and woke up early in the morning, he walked right out of the Fire Nation controlled city and went into the wilderness. Now out of the hands of the Fire Nation, Raijuu continued on his journey to find inner peace and to find a calling in life and until he had found it, he took up the profession of running messages between members of organizations and nations.
