The Story Thus Far
Judging that you are an addicted slave to the Avatar universe as we are, hopefully you are aware that the series has indeed “ended”. Aang and friends did defeat the Fire Lord, and the world had been glorified into an era of “peace”. Zuko had been crowned as Fire Lord, and through the unity of all the nations, rebuilding would begin and the Fire Nation’s honor restored. The end had left us with a feeling of warmth that everything would indeed turn out alright. Iroh even opened a tea shop, and Katara and Aang’s loving embrace sealed a picture perfect relationship.
Well...
That’s not very interesting is it?
Let it be known, that everything that happened within the show’s runtime is CANON. Meaning it’s unchangeable and is set completely in stone. No tampering by any means. However what happens beyond the series proclaimed and- well beautiful- ending is completely up to us as writers and role players.
Our site’s general direction takes place about 5 years after the ending of the Avatar series. Everyone’s roles that were developed are still in place. Meaning Zuko is still Fire Lord, Aang’s still a keeper of peace, etc.
Reconstructing a broken world is a lot easier on paper than through actions. Under the Fire Nations peaceful banners and leadership, an underground resistance bubbles, with murderous ambitions. Meanwhile the Earth Kingdom and Water Tribe’s people are reluctant to trust a nation that had scorched their land and people. The friendships of our heroes is resilient however, and while Aang, Zuko, and others preach for peace between nations- the world's broken cracks seem to grow, and the world’s people seem ever hesitant to be betrayed once again.
This constructed reality is trying to move toward peace, however there are limitations due to the Fire Nation’s previous aspect. While the Avatar and Fire Lord demonstrate prosperous words of good times, the world is still burned and broken from the past. Animosity still bubbles underneath the speeches of peace coming from the world’s leaders. Can the Avatar and his friends simply rely on each other to solve the world’s problems? Is a dangerous political movement stirring within the Fire Nation? Is the world ready to accept unity, when horrendous crimes have been committed?
That is up for you to decide.
Remember, this universe IS indeed the Avatar universe. And while Canon characters are preserved as they are forever- you still have the ability to create your own. Rebel alliances can beformed, political revolutions carried out, peace protests, reconstruction projects. There are those whose anger still calls for war, while there are those who preach peace between nations.
As you can see, this new Avatar future is full of varying opinions. Earth Kingdom and Water Tribe families have lost their lives from the murderous fires of the Fire Nation's previous regime. And while the new Fire Nation calls for peace and reconstruction, it's difficult to shake such a hand.
Just remember to be creative, have fun, and create beauty. This new world is brimming with various outcomes, so have at it. Now we’re leaving the fine print open to the actual role players and creation aspects of the site. So Power to the People!
