The sea that surround the Earth Kingdom is known as the Great Earth Ocean, a deep body of salt water that is just swimming with fish and crustations. The ocean is normally fairly calm, but storms tend to pop up quickly, and are deadly. They normally only last a few hours to a day, though, so a quick pit stop and one should be fine.
The Great Earth Ocean combines with the seas that border both the Northern Water Tribe and the Southern Water Tribes, so crossing through these waters are necessary to get to one tribe to the other. Also, it connects to the waters of the Fire Nation, making trade a viable option for all the lands.
