Contact Info: Um…I’d rather not disclose that to the general public, but the e-mail in my profile is my only one.
Experience: Three years, so I guess I’m pretty good.
Activity: Everyday
/Basic Info\
Name: Aang
Age: 17
Alias: The Avatar, Avatar Aang, Avatar: The last Airbender
Nation: The Air Nomads…that’s right you don’t leave The Air Nomads; once an Air Nomad always an Air Nomad
Occupation: Helping to help the recovery effort. In addition, he must maintain the balance of the world this includes: dealing with angry spirits, helping the sick and wounded, and inspiring hope.
Political Standpoint/Allegiance: He has no allegiance he exists to keep the balance of the world, and that is what he will do.
Appearance: Aang has grown a lot since the defeat of the Phoenix King. He still has those kind gray eyes from when he was a child, but in addition they seem more confident, and they inspire hope.
His build is still pretty much the same, he is rather slim for a man his age, and his muscular status is toned. His shoulders aren’t very broad, and his body is well proportioned. He shaves his facial hair, and his hair, but his body hair has failed to get coarser and has failed to take on more color. His head is a little elliptical, a heroic mix between circular and elliptical. The most prominent feature of Aang has got to be the sacred blue arrows that follow the body’s main chi pathways. He has five arrows tattooed on both his hands and feet, with a large one on his head. The tails of these blue tattoos all intersect on his spine; they intersect a main tail that splits into each individual one.
His clothing consists of a brown undershirt, and loose brown pants. In addition, he drapes an orange cloth around his left shoulder and lets it wrap around his waist and finish its extension on his right leg. Covering the waist of the cloth is another read cloth that he uses to keep his orange one at bay. Though his shirt is brown he has attached a yellow collar to it, and it extends up the length of his neck. He wears brown boots to complete his ensemble.
/Combat Structure\
Bending: The works: waterbending, earthbending, firebending, and airbending.
Weapons: His staff that was created by the mechanist.
Combat Style: Being the Avatar he has knowledge of all of the bending arts. He can quickly use an opponent’s force against them with his skill in waterbending. He can firmly hold his ground with earthbending, while using the techniques that he learned from Toph: he waits and listens to the earth before attacking, and he can use the earthbending sonar. With his firebending he can unleash massive attacks without fail as well as redirect lightning; however, he refuses to learn how to create lightening because he has no use for it. With his airbending, he protects himself from many attacks, and using its circular movements he can swiftly maneuver behind his opponent and prevent them from continuing the fight.
Even with this mastery of bending disciplines, many would criticize him for not being aggressive enough; his tactics usually involve disabling his opponents rather than harming them. In addition, his Air Nomad philosophies have furthered this devotion to life, and have furthered his inability to truly harm anyone; because of this he often opts to not fight if that option is ever present.
/Biography\
Personality: Although he still retains his carefree attitude, Aang has been forced by to put the priorities of others before himself. As such, he is a brave and noble young man who is very fitting to carry the title of Avatar. He is even willing to reason with somebody before fighting; thus he practices the first discipline of any Martial Art and that is to avoid combat whenever possible. From this practice, Aang has developed the ability to calmly talk to people, and to reason with them to avoid any conflict. Some may it’s too soft, but Aang believes that violence is never the answer.
He is a humanist who believes that there is good inside everyone, and he always tries his best to bring out peoples best qualities. He is trusting and friendly rarely steering away from these traits. In all he seems like the perfect avatar for the job at hand.
This, however, does not detract from his selfish fault: he will never fight with the intent to kill or cause extreme harm because of his spirituality. Because of this, many criminals can claim their existence to the Avatar ‘pansy ness.’
History: Aang was born to an Air Nomad Sister in the Eastern Air Temple. At first he was given special attention because he was born in the right month for the next Avatar. At the tender age of four, he was placed in a room with thousands of others, and chose the four specific Avatar Relics, and this solidified his Avatar status. From then on, he was raised as a normal boy under the care of Monk Gyatso he made many friends out of his kindness and his bending prowess. He met his sky bison friend, Appa, in the Eastern Air Temple by offering him an apple, and he made a friend for life. No one expected him to be the Avatar, even after he passed 34 levels of airbending and upon creating the Air scooter he was given the tattoos and pronounced a master.
Then things went downhill, he was told by the monks that he was the avatar four years too early because of an impending war they sensed. He was forced to drill countless moves, and his life became difficult, only Gyatso stood up for him, and because of Gyatso’s love the Council of Monks found it best to split the two up. Aang didn’t like this so he fled the temple, got entangled in a storm, and wound up freezing himself in an iceberg for a century.
A century later, he was discovered by a brother and sister of the Southern Water Tribe, Sokka and Katara. It was a crush at first sight, and Katara was oblivious to it. Sokka didn’t trust him, and it didn’t help that Aang ended up signaling Zuko to attack the village by accident. Aang chose to save the village by turning himself over to Zuko, and Sokka and Katara came to his aid. From then on they were bound by destiny to help Aang stop the Fire Lord.
On their travels, Aang learned of the genocide that befell his people in his absence, and he made a new friend, Momo (possibly the last lemur like Appa is the last sky bison). They made it to Kyoshi Island where Aang finally faced the reality that being the Avatar carried a lot of danger as a village was burned down to protect him. Following Kyoshi, Aang then visited Omashu and learned that his friend Bumi had become the king. Along his travels he learned from Avatar Roku that he needed to master the four elements before the end of the summer. Aang took this news hard because they weeks away from the North Pole he hadn’t learned any waterbending. Katara offered her help and Aang’s natural gifts overshadowed her effort, enraged she stopped teaching Aang, and then swiped a waterbending scroll from some pirates under the guise that it was to help Aang. Eventually all was resolved with the ‘help’ of Zuko.
The gAang later found themselves aiding a thug under the guise of a rebel, and with Sokka’s help. Afterwards, they helped a feuding tribe, met up with Bato, from the Water Tribe, and finally made it to the north.
Once there, things didn’t go as planned. Master Pakku, the master there, was rude and brutal in his training of Aang, and even refused to teach Katara. After a fight between Katara and Pakku, Aang soon found Katara as his fellow student, one who would soon pass everyone up. Then the Fire Nation attacked the north, it was hell. Aang visited the spirit world to gain knowledge, and after Zhao and his men killed the moon spirit he found himself the Avatar of the Ocean spirit, and ended the battle.
In the spring, he headed for Omashu to learn earthbending from Bumi, on his way he learns from Roku the reason of the Avatar state and its dangers. When he reaches Omashu he finds it captured by the Fire Nation, and he does all he can to save Bumi from Azula and her friends. He helps Bumi but learns about someone else that he should learn earthbending from. He leaves Omashu and finds himself trapped in a swamp that reveals his future master to him.
On the quest to find the master, Aang hears a 400 year old murder case involving Kyoshi, and then arrives at Gaoling and finds his master, a blind girl named Toph. At first, she is reluctant to help Aang, but Aang’s persistence and his character make her join him.
On their travels they discover an eclipse that will leave the Fire Nation defenseless, and lose Appa to sandbenders. They discover Appa in Ba Sing Se, and chase after him, only to arrive at a city teeming with corruption. In the end, it is Azula who end the corruption of Long Feng by capturing the Earth Kindom capitol city, and striking the Avatar with lightening.
Aang was out for weeks, and when he awoke he was in enemy territory. On his travels through the Fire Nation, Aang attended a school, helped Katara help out a village, and met a new foe.
On the day of the eclipse, Aang readied himself for the showdown between him and the Fire Lord, but he couldn’t him. He then learned about secret bunker and headed down there to fight him, but instead he wound up fighting Azula, and wasting the eclipse.
The plan to stop the Fire Lord soon became the old one, and Aang needed a firebending teacher. He found one, and at first was reluctant to do so because he was a former enemy, Zuko. Together, the two journey off to a lost civilization, and learned the secret behind firebending. Then Azula attacked the group at the Western Air Temple. The group fled from her to Ember Island, where after a play Aang confronted Katara about his feelings for her. She responded negatively and he was crushed.
Three days before the comet arrived, they learned about the Fire Lord’s plan to destroy the Earth Kingdom, and Aang found himself on a lion turtle where he learned how to spiritbend. He later confronted Ozai, and stopped him. Refusing to kill him, Aang took Ozai’s bending away thus riding the world of evil or so he thought.
After the war, Aang had hoped that things would cool down, but they didn’t. Instead, life got busier as Aang was forced to travel the world, not to master the elements like before, but to stop the chaos that was ensuing after the loss of order. No matter where he went, Aang encountered similar situations, people just couldn’t accept the reality that the war had ended, and even with all of the reconstruction effort, life couldn’t go back to the way it was, nor would it ever.
Amidst the image of a recovering world, was the decay of people. All around him, Aang had found that many people just couldn’t go on after having lost so much, this frustrated him, and he consulted Guru Pathik throughout the period. With the guru, Aang was able to learn that he did not only have to heal the earth which had suffered, but also the people because they too had suffered.
Even with this new idea in mind, things only kept on getting worse. Tons of small skirmishes erupted throughout the Earth Kingdom as tribes that were once united under the Earth King fought to get more territory. It was within these small battles that Aang was able to use his peacekeeping skills, and he was able to make deals with these tribes all in the name of peace. Along with that, he has had to deal with much criticism as many people in the world still doubt his abilities at maintaining order.
Although has had tried to keep his life in order he had many problems in doing this, all of which are attributed to what is demanded of him as the Avatar.
The one problem that is troubling Aang, is how the people in the Fire Nation will act in the future. From Zuko, Aang has heard that a few people don’t accept their new Fire Lord, and he has heard rumors that there are plots to overthrow him in a coup d’etat. With all of these things simultaneously occurring Aang finds comfort in Katara, and friends. With this, he is proving that he is the Avatar for the job, and he won’t stop until he dies.
