Canon Characters List Please remember that you may have three canon characters at a time. Plus, if you just barely passed with a character, and someone better comes, than they will get the character. However, if you post often with that character, and they are the only one you use, they might not be taken away. For the main characters, if you are accepted, you must make a profile for them. This proves your knowledge of the characters, as well as your determination to do good by them. Also, we expect you to play them AS THEY WERE IN CANON. Zuko and Katara cannot magically end up together just because you were disappointed by the end of the series. Mike and Brian's word is LAW. Also, where they are spiritually at the end will only be enhanced. Zuko won't go back to being obsessed with honor (at least, not in the same way), Aang is not completely immature anymore, ect. Please honor character development. Now, for the list. /Main Characters:\ Aang Taken by: Dubme Zuko Taken by: Zuko Katara Sokka Toph Iroh Azula Taken by: MukLuk Mai Ty Lee Suki Ozai Taken by: Kidate /The Pets:\ Appa Momo Floppsie Hawkie /Water Tribe:\ Arnook (Yue's Father) Bato Gran-Gran Pakku Hama (The Blood-bending lady) /The Spirits:\ Yue Tui Koh Hei-Bai Knowledge Spirit (owl) /Earth Kingdom:\ Bumi Earth King (feel free to give him a name) Haru General Fong Long Feng Meng The Boulder Fire Nation Man The Hippo Madame Wu The Herbalist Jin Crazy Foaming Guy Chong (The singing hippie from 'The Cave of Two Lovers') The Cabbage Merchant Due (One of the swamp hillbillies) Hue (The swamp hillbilly that played as the monster) /Fire Nation:\ Jeong Jeong Chey Combustion man Ursa /Unknown Origin:\ The LionTurtle Guru Jun Now, to sign up for a character, please fill this form: [b]Display Name:[/b]

Display Name:
MukLuk [/blockquote] Your Experience Level:Um, not entirely sure. Almost two years of RPing, with a long break for different reasons. I'm a bit rusty... scratch that, really rusty and still trying to get used to the RP feel again. But I guess I'm okay. [/blockquote] Character Name:Azula [/blockquote] RP Sample:She didn’t belong here.
That was always her first thought when waking up to the small room, her arms bound and a guard watching over her.
She didn’t belong here. There were people here who had dual personalities, men and women who talked to others that no one else could see. There were people who would scream under terrible hallucinations or people who had a constant desire to kill themselves. For every disorder or problem, she never fit under any category. They told her that she constantly hallucinated, that she was subject to bouts of paranoia…
But no. She couldn’t believe that. She was the Fire Lord’s daughter, one of the most powerful benders in all of the Fire Nation. But of course, the great Fire Lord was a bad dream to the world now, his bending and his power taken and himself thrown into a prison cell where he would spend the rest of his life rotting. And now his daughter was sent to some asylum… Even with all of her power, she could not free herself from this prison. It seemed Ty Lee was not the only one who knew how to block chi and any bending was met with this reaction instantly. Guards were constantly at her side, always having weapons ready, always having their ‘specialists’ prepared to knock her out and put her back in her cell should she attempt to retaliate.
But Azula had been a good girl for a long while now, five years to be exact. She was counting every minute, every second she was in this hole. It was sometime in the morning and Azula opened her eyes to the same sight that greeted her every morning. White walls. Endless white walls. It was almost as if they wanted the insane to stay insane so they would all have jobs. But the whole thing was padded, so any attempts at getting out by force were futile. She had tried throwing herself against the walls upon her arrival. The best she would get was a great rebound that sent her sprawling. But this morning she was quiet, seemingly tranquil. Emotion had abandoned her eyes. There was no underlying anger or rebelliousness. Her eyes were blank, much like the white walls surrounding her.
A guard came in and announced that it was time for her to see her counselor like she did every day. So she stood and she went. Her straightjacket was removed and she was let into the room. There sat a woman, her hair combed neatly into a bun, her robes a cheery pink that reminded Azula of blooming roses in the summertime outside the palace. Ah, but that was years ago… Now she simply faced this woman, not caring about the cheery smile on her face and initially not caring to return it. But the woman was not dampened by her mood. She never was.
“Hello, Azula.” Azula knew that she couldn’t possibly remember her name along with all of the others. She probably had to refer to her file before Azula walked in. “I have a treat for you today.” Her eyes were shining and something in Azula told her to play along. So her muscles tightened and her eyes attempted to brighten and she hoped that what was displayed was a smile.
She assumed it must have been close, because the woman obviously was very pleased. “Guard, would you leave us alone for a few moments?” The guard looked unsure, but when she motioned again, he left. First mistake. “Now, what I have to show you is very special. I’m not supposed to, but you deserve something nice.” With one hand, she pulled down a cloth and what it revealed was a window. The entire wall behind her desk was a window. Azula saw the sea, the endless sea, and then a tiny line that must have been the Fire Nation Mainland.
“Its beautiful.” She whispered. But she didn’t mean the sea. She meant the possibility, now almost palpable, of freedom. And then, the woman opened the window. It wasn’t a small opening, it was an opening large enough to walk out of. Second mistake. Despite what the guards thought, Azula hadn’t fallen completely out of shape and still exercised to what extent she could within her cell. Her speed was incredible as she moved forward, her left hand heating with the fury of fire and closing around the woman’s throat, her right coming to silence her. And then the woman fell to the ground, dead. Azula knew she had mere seconds left. Quickly, she took the woman’s robe and pulled her own hair into a bun. The woman’s eyes were the same gold as hers. She could disguise herself for awhile yet. Quickly, she took off her own telltale white clothes of a ‘patient’ and took the woman’s hair down, putting her face down on the floor. And then Azula leapt from the window.
She was a few stories up, but she dove perfectly into the water. She didn’t feel pain, only the glory of freedom and the cold waters racing over her and encompassing her. As she guessed, a patrol boat came up and pulled her from the water. They instantly recognized her not as Azula, but as the counselor. “Take me back to mainland!” She spat. “I’m tired of this filthy place! Take me back, I tell you!” And they did, without question. Her story was she had been pushed from a window by a patient. By the time the guards rose the alarm, the boat was too far gone to hear it. She stepped onto the mainland, feeling odd and yet ecstatic. It was like a dream, walking away from the shore and then into the town, but she had enough sense to eventually run for the woods. Into territory where few would or even could follow her. But all of this was done not with fear, but ecstasy. Joy, happiness even.
She was free.
And she had some things that needed to be taken care of.

Double post~ Sad day.
But, here goes anyways.
Display Name: Kidate
Your Experience Level: 5 years, about.
Character Name: Ozai
RP Sample:
They could not hold him.
They could NEVER hold him.
Ozai thrashed slightly in his bonds, uncaring of the exasperated gazes of his prison guards. They thought he could never escape- that he was useless now. Without his bending, he might as well be dead. Their glazed eyes watched him all the time, clearly bored. Their arrogence would get them killed. All of them.
The metal cuffs that restrained him had not been changed since they put him here, now rusted and harsh on his skin, and was only removed for him to be led to facilities to relieve himself. Even at meals the plate of indistinguishable mush had simply been slid near him, so that he had to bend awkwardly so that he could lap at it like some sort of animal. The guards had laughed.
It had cemented their fate.
But now those cuffs were flaking at the edges, getting slightly larger even as his malnurished wrists got thinner. The rest of the cloth bindings were mere formality, a mocking farce of actual restraints. They would go easily. If only he could get his hands free.
The noise of an opening door snapped the guards back to attention, as a new set of faces arrived to take their place. A nod was all that was exchanged, before the old set left, and the two new ones stood with glassy expressions.
It was only an hour later that Ozai's strugglings finally, finally came to fruitations. Thin wrists slipped free of handcuffs, and for a moment, the former Fire Lord stared at his hands, stunned. Then, one of the guards noticed his triumph, and opened his mouth to shout a warning. No sound left his lips, as the other guard slammed his head into the wall. He hit the ground, either unconcious or dead.
The remaining guard quickly slipped out the key, unlocking the heavy door even as Ozai removed the cloth from his feet. Another object, this one looking like a strange metal backpack, was procured from the large cloth bag the guard had on him. It was presented to Ozai, the youth looking up at him with reverance.
"My King," He said, eyes filled with hero worship, "For you to use against all those who would go against you." Ozai nodded, and accepted the thing, examining it, before looking back at the 'guard'. "It is an amazing device, My King. If you wear it like a backpack, and attach this to your wrist," he pointed to a strange nosel coming from the thing. "It will shot flames as though you had bended it yourself. Flip the switch on the back, and it will do the same with a strange liquid that freezes all it touches."
Ozai, still not saying a word, looked at the device with a strange satisfaction on his face. This, abruptly, he kicked the boy. Even with his diminshed strength, the youth flew into the cell wall, his body making a sickening crunch as it hit. A crazed grin streaching across his gaunt face, the former Fire Lord walked out of the cell, head held high, and pointed the device at the other guard, before hitting the button.
Fire spewed from it, just as hot and powerful as it would had been had he been bending, if lacking the control. The crazy glint grew as first the clothes, then the man caught flames. The body twitched, and the eyes opened (unconcious, then), but no scream managed to escape the melting lips.
With that, Ozai turned at walked away. Perhaps it would behoove him to find what had happened to his darling daughter. A lovely family reunion sounded like the perfect plan.

Display Name:
Yoru (If accepted, I'll probably change it to Zuko)
Your Experience Level:
3 years or so
Character Name:
Zuko
RP Sample:
Fire Lord Zuko... five years gone by, and the phrase still sounded alien to him. It flitted through the young ruler's mind as he made his way down a long hallway in the Fire Nation Palace.
On either side columns stood like great sentries, each one with etchings of great accomplishments drawn into their surface. As he passed one, he saw a picture of his great-grandfather, Sozin, standing triumphantly below a bright comet. A deep sigh, a slight pause, and then the continued sound of royal footsteps.
So long ago... had it really been five years? Perhaps it was his overwhelming schedule that willed the years to pass like flitting birds. His thoughts were thrown asunder by a servant passing by.
"My Lord." A deep bow. Zuko blinked, then nodded. It took the Fire Lord a while to recognize his own title. To him, he was just Zuko. Titles never felt right to him, even when he was called Prince. It had never felt right, yet it was his identity.
"Yes?" he said after noticing the servant's silence.
"Are you in need of something?" came a response. The servant was till bowed down in respect, and it was making Zuko terribly uncomfortable.
"No, that is... very kind of you," responded the firebender. He hadn't been home for a while now, off on diplomatic ventures. He wasn't entirely used to the random servants popping up here and there to offer you this or that. "You don't have to bow, you know," Zuko mentioned.
"Sir, it is my duty to bow to you. you are royalty." Something about this man's tired tone struck a chord in the Fire Lord's heart.
"Please, return to your family. take the rest of the day off." He put on a smile, but it felt fake, so he return to a blank look. The servant shifted slightly, then returned to a regular standing position.
"Th-thank you, my Lord... but--" Zuko raised a regal hand, and shook his head. the servant bowed even lower, a great smile on his face. He walked away down the hall and out of sight. A sigh escaped the royal man's lips before he set off once more to his destination.
Passing a few more pillars, he arrived at a door; his old room. Taking a deep breath, he entered. A small, simple room lay inside. Decorations of crimson, scarlet, and deep golds hung like cobwebs about the bedroom. He had not visited this place since his last return home after that fateful day... the memory of that day of fate still lay in his mind like a soft pillow where one could rest their head after a long, hard day. the man looked about his childhood quarters, memories flowing like water. He spotted a small chest of drawers, and approached. Two paintings were visible; a painting of Mai and the Fire Lord himself that he had painted so long ago... the other, a bit more crude drawing Sokka had given to him as a present. It was the picture from a few days after the end of the war, at Uncle's tea shop... He laughed out loud at the image of the Kyoshi Warrior, Suki, shooting fire from her hands.
Looking out his window, he saw the sun setting. The great sun was sinking beneath the horizon, casting the world into vermilion light and deep shadow simultaneously. The world was at peace...

Display Name: now dubme, quite possibly Avatar Aang if this is accepted.
Your Experience Level: I have been RP’ing for the past 3 years. I am decent, I guess.
Character Name: Aang
RP Sample:
((I hope you don’t mind, but I think that in the horrors of a recovering world Aang would tend to try and understand the human psyche all the while helping to rebuild.))
It had been five years since the war ended. So why was this still a recurring nightmare?
Against a recently darkened earth, the Avatar stood with a gloomed look. No he was wrong before, this was a nightmare it was a recurring event, and that was the most horrendous part of it. The war was over, and he was still receiving calls about the destruction of villages, much like the scene he now found himself in. It was horrible to think that his fellow man could have such a lack of respect for life, how could anyone not respect life?
Though Aang knew the answer, he knew it was best to not accept it because as soon as he accepted it then he would have to face the fact that some people were monsters incapable of being healed, and that was almost as bad as what he was seeing. He knew that like the world, people could be healed, and though his main duties were to help keep the balance, he would have to heal the people of the three nations if he was to ever to his duty right. It wasn’t a personal thing, but a fact; Aang had pondered this over the past five years. Why had so many people seen it fit to just burn a small Earth Kingdom village to the ground, or rape the women of the Water Tribes, and Earth Kingdom or force people into slavery? Simply put, many have never lived a different life; some lived through cruelty and from that cruelty learned only malice; while others lived in confusing, seeking their place in the universe; and these people had one thing in common—they were broken spiritually. They were forced to hide their hearts, and they were robbed of being human; from that they found it fit to spread pain and discord throughout the world. If Aang was ever to help the world he would have to heal the hearts of those who were wounded by that horrible war.
“Appa, I am going to investigate. Wait here buddy,” called the wayfaring Avatar as he continued down to the village to see the horrors of this attack. As he walked down, his heart began to increase in beats, he was terrified of what he would find; his last investigation of a ransacked village lead him to find a viscously slaughtered family. To add to those horrors, one of the worst things he had ever had to stop was the trafficking of Water Tribe slaves, and he has still failed to stop that. How could he a simple, go-lucky boy of seventeen be forced to face the horrors of a recovering world?
He finally reached what seemed to be the charred entrance of the village, what was formerly an archway was now a lone pillar with heavy damage. Aang continued his path down the village’s main road, all along the sides homes were badly burned, and some were still smoking. It was a painful sight for him, he had failed again. Aang stopped in front of a badly damaged home, the tile roof was gone, the door was surprisingly still there, and worst of all he thought he had seen something move inside it.
I can do this, though Aang, as he tried his hardest to muster up the courage to face what he had often faced in this situations. Hopefully, it would be an attacker, and he would be able to get some answers as to who did this, and why they did this; in fact, he would prefer to have to fight someone than what he knew he would see inside. With a deep breath Aang grabbed the wooden handle, and slid the door open.
Before him stood an animal, its eyes were widened as if caught; Aang fell to his knees in tears. The animal howled as it scurried of with something in its arms. In the past, a situation like this would have triggered the Avatar state, but Aang was mature, and he had mastered it extreme emotional distress has failed to trigger it as it used to. Aang forced himself up, like so many times before, and with the greatest respect approached the body, he squatted down, and he examined it as best he could. It was female, she was severely burned, and she had the most grotesque expression on her face.
You were burned alive, Aang thought the way he was thinking it was almost as if he were talking to her. Why are your arms like that? pondered Aang as his pale hands maneuvered to her right hand, and then he imagined what her missing left would be doing. It’s like your protecting a treas…
“Oh, no,” He said to himself as he quickly stood up and leapt out of the house and onto the rooftop of another. His gray eyes scanned the area in vain, the baby was gone. “That must have been what that animal was carrying. Her dead baby…or at least her hopefully dead baby.”
Aang sniveled on the charred rooftop. How bad must the world be if he was wishing that a missing baby be dead? It was bad, and he knew it; this was the world that he had inherited was a mixture of his failures as Roku, and himself. But he knew there was hope. Like Iroh once said, he ‘inspires hope’, and as Zuko happily put it, ‘you gave me hope when I first found you.’ How those times had changed. He could have used his earthbending radar, but by now the animal would have most likely traveled back to its nest. In addition, by using the baby as food it would spare the life of another animal; it was a horrible way to think, but Aang had to cope with this otherwise traumatizing event.
With that, Aang leapt from the rooftop and back down to the body of the burned woman. He picked her up, and carried her out of the home. Aang didn’t worry about blood; she was almost literally burned to a crisp. He went in the opposite direction of Appa, and stopped a few feet outside the village. He laid the body down, struck a rooted stance and pushed down with his right arm. The earth before him soon depressed into a grave, and in it Aang laid the body of the woman.
“I may not know your name, but I am sorry that I could not bury you with your baby. But I know you’ll see her again, you’re probably looking down at me right now with her or him in your arms right now.” Aang smiled at his words as he suppressed his tears, his smile the very opposite of the body’s gruesome expression. And with these parting words, Aang swept his left arm across his body, and buried the woman. He turned around and looked at the village. If there were any more dead people, he would do the same to them.
I’ll heal these wounds…someday.

Display Name: katara
Your Experience Level: a few years but English isn't my first language
Character Name:Katara
RP Sample:
It had been five years. but it didn't seem that much. that mostly was because of the fact that she just had been to busy to notice time. things had changed in the past five year. they had more contact with the northern tribe again. the men had returned. of course it would never be the same as before. she to would never be the same.
On the brighter side of everything that happened, they had contact again with their sister tribe. and some children where able to waterbend again. witch she found a wonderful thing. And Sokka got frequently soaked again by what he once called 'magic water'.
It was in many way odd to be back at the south pole. but it also was good though she missed the friends she made and Aang. She held hope. like she did six years ago, that everything will be allright. she knew that it had to be.
(srr that i couldn't make it longer or better but i am both brain dead and my computer time is up)

Dubme:
Okay the sample looks good so I'll say approved, now all you have to do is create a profile for him, also please be sure not to copy and paste something from Wikipedia or any other information site, everything should be in your words. Your free to base it off it but it can't be word for word.
Katara:
Sorry to say, but I'm going to have to say no. First off there were some grammar errors mainly you using periods when a comma should be used, and you do not capitalize the first letter in every sentence. And there are several others reason, but yeah. This kind of sample would be good for a low cannon character, but Katara is a major character and we do have higher standards. Feel free to try again, but for now the answer is no.
