The ocean around the Southern Water Tribe is known as teh Southern Island Sea, and is best known for the dangerous drifts of ice that drift the waters. Blisteringly cold winds almost constantly blow through these already fridgid lands, chilling those who don't go with the proper protection to the bones. Animals still survive in this hostile enviroment, from the gentle penguins to much more dangerous creatures that haunt the seas.
